Forty-four states and 13 different countries were represented with over $2 million in awards and cash prizes given to top competitors at the 2010 AQHA World Championship show. Adequan is proud to sponsor and congratulates the contestants and winners of this year’s World Show.
Each year in November, thousands of Quarter Horse riders, owners and trainers gather in Oklahoma City for the AQHA World Championship Show. In fact, there were 3,326 entries – 1,360 amateur and nearly 2,000 open entries – with only 2,043 horses competing in the show.
The top-5 class purses were:
• Ranch sorting – $98,411
– First place went to Grady Underwood of Jacksonville, Texas, and Louis Saggione III of Manhattan, Illinois.
• Team penning – $78,150
– First was awarded to Joel Lesh from Morrison, Oklahoma and Jared and Sarah Lesh from Whitesboro, Texas.
• Senior heeling – $74,600
– First place went to AQHA Professional Horseman J.D. Yates of Pueblo, Colorado.
• Junior heeling – $66,311
– First place was awarded to AQHA Professional Horseman Brad Lund of LaCygne, Kansas.
• Junior cutting – $65,786
– First place went to Guy Woods from Pilot Point, Texas.
